We had quite the party yesterday. I think the full-on count was 26, including 9 not-quite adults. Everyone brought fabulous food, huge surprise. Some memorable moments:
Coming into the kitchen to find Sam turning away from the cheeseboard munching with a possessed look on his face. Turns out the dude is in thrall to cheesedom – who knew? – and man was he in the right place (hint: Marty and Frank both brought cheese)…
Alice breaking out the Pot au Cremes. Oh. My. My my my. Conversation actually ceased there for a minute…
All the young dudes out front with balls and skateboards and scooters, just like an old-fashioned neighborhood…
Feeling of contentment.
**satisfied sigh**
Today I am very thankful for all that. Thanks to all of you reading this who came along and made it such a great day!
I am taking today off in deference to our UK colleagues. In the UK they get Good Friday and Easter Monday off. They have a state religion, you see. On the road again tomorrow, but I visit C at the end of the week! A little shopping, a couple of meals (I think here of Chris W: “Great – two lunches and a dinner!”), and if all goes well a visit to Rhinebeck aerodrome!
